FUNCTIONS OF THE SP MEMBERS
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan as the Legislative Body of the province shall enact ordinances, approve resolutions and appropriate funds for the general welfare of the province and its inhabitants and shall:
❖ Enact, approve ordinances and pass resolutions necessary for an efficient and effective Provincial Government; and for promotion of the general welfare;
❖ Review and approve ordinances and resolutions passed/approved by the Sanggunian Bayan and executive orders issued by Mayors to promote efficient delivery of all basic services;
❖ Generate and maximize the use of resources and revenues for the development plans, program objectives and priorities of the province with particular attention to agro-industrial development and country-wide growth and progress;
❖ Grant franchises, approve the issuance of permits or licenses, or enact ordinances levying taxes, fees and charges upon such conditions and purposes intended to promote the general welfare of the inhabitants of the province;
❖ Approve ordinances which shall ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the basic services and facilities;
❖ Exercise such other powers and perform other duties and functions as provided for by law.
THE CONFIDENTIAL STAFF
The Personal Staff shall assist the Sanggunian Members in the performance of their official duties by providing executive assistance, public relations, secretarial, administrative finance and general services.
